We will present some of the herbs that can safely be used by our dogs. The way to use them and the occasions their use is appropriate for.
We can generally use them the way we use them for ourselves in the forms of tincture, infusion, poultice etc. Dosage is analogous to the animal's body weight. The use of herbs in the form of capsules is not appropriate for dogs as their intestinal system is too short to properly absorb them.
The use of tincture is the most effective and easy to administer. Just put the desired quantity with some water in a syringe – without the needle- and give it straight to the dog's mouth. Putting the syringe to the back of the mouth near the back teeth is preferable to have less tincture loss or none at all.
The infusions are easier to administer after the dog's walk when they are usually thirsty or 15 to 20 minutes after exercise. Wait for their pulse to lower and serve in room temperature.
Since tinctures are more potent, always start with a lower dose and increase daily until you reach the desired dosage. This is to make sure that the tincture we administer is well tolerated by the dog. For example, if I want to give 2ml twice a day, I will start with 0.5ml the first day – morning and evening- and increase by 0.5ml daily until I reach the desired dosage of 2ml. In case the dog gets diarrhoea or vomit then we stop the administration of the tincture for two days. Then we continue with a lower dosage.

As dog breeders, dog trainers and multiple dog owners , we use herbs as tonics , as medicine and to promote our dogs' good health. We have seen excellent results without the side effects and health risks of drugs. I suggest you try the natural ways with your loved animals, always with reasonable use according to the specific needs of every dog , and always consulting your veterinarian.
Health has always been and always will be the supreme good as for ourselves so for our dogs.
